Depart in the morning to the city center, where the important commercial and administrative areas are located. The main industrial area is located to the south, beyond which, is Nairobi National Park, a wildlife preserve and major tourist attraction.

Visit the City market located near the city center, and other smaller open-air markets filling many of the city's open spaces. Drive through the large central city square passing by Nairobi's city hall; Kenya's parliament building; the Kenyatta Conference Center; the Law courts; and mausoleum of Jomo Kenyatta.

Next, visit the Parliament buildings dating from the 1930s. Inside, be sure to see the statue of Jomo Kenyatta, needlework tapestries showing Kenya's history, a mosaic of Kenyan tribes.

Later visit the National Museum of Kenya containing the discoveries at Tanzania's Olduvai Gorge and at Koobi Fora in northern Kenya. Also on displays are wildlife statues plus a wide range of weapons, ornaments, and headdresses of various Kenyan tribes that offers an introduction to the country and its peoples. Among other displays are about Kenya's modern history and an extensive ornithological collection and contemporary art from across eastern Africa.

The last stop is at the Snake Park, which contains a variety of reptile and fish species. The reptile section is the oldest with outside pit type cages housing Leopard Tortoises, White-throat Monitors, and snakes. A separate wall of glass-fronted concrete vivariums contains the venomous snakes. The new orchids and fish sections are new and have adapted modern designs displaying the fish and plants in an aesthetic way.
